Idaho Police Officers Kill Homeless, Pregnant Woman Within 15 Seconds Of Showing Up

Sandpoint, Idaho – After receiving calls of a woman holding a knife outside of Bronner General Hospital, police showed up and within 15 seconds of assessing the situation, shoot and kill the woman, Jeanetta Riley, and her unborn child. Footage starts shortly before police engage Jeanetta.

As they come up to her, they have guns drawn, one officer with an AR-15. Police order her to “walk over here”, “show me your hands” and “drop the knife”. While you cannot see Jeanetta herself in the footage, you can hear her be uncooperative and loudly yell “No” and “bring it on!”.

The next thing you see, whith Jeanetta still out of the picture is the cops back up and open fire on her. The police claim she advanced towards them, but you cannot see that in the footage. The cops knew that they were dealing with a woman with a knife and came out with guns drawn.

No attempt to de-escalate the situation was made in any kind of non lethal manner. If you shoot somebody with an AR-15, you can expect to probably kill them.

It is reported that while 2 officers came with guns drawn immediately (Johnson and Valenzuela), Officer Zieglar had the time and the presence of mind to pull his taser out, point it at Jeanetta, put it away, and take out his 9MM handgun.

Why he and other officers opted to try something besides killing her, even though they had the opportunity, is unknown.

Jeanetta, a mother of three and pregnant with her fourth, was brought to the hospital by her husband because she had been threatening to kill herself. She had a history of mental health issues and the only threats reported were towards herself. She had also consumed about half a bottle of vodka.

None of this information seems to have made it’s way to the police officers, or at least they did not respond as if they were dealing with a drunk, depressed and mentally ill woman.

In typical fashion, the cops were cleared of wrong doing, backed by their own department, and we’re supposed to believe that these are the actions of honorable, selfless heroes. Jeanetta was weilding a three and a half inch filet knife, which Ziegler reported that the knife looked “huge in her hands”, and Valenzuela, later told detectives he believed she was “absolutely gonna thrust at me”, another case of “I feared for my life”.

Two trained police officers with guns, “feared for their life” from a drunk, depressed, homeless, pregnant woman. It is reported that Jeanetta was 10 feet away from officer Valenzuela at the time that she was killed.

Police are, in the case of somebody weilding a knife, supposed to maintain a 21 foot distance from the suspect, so that they can control the situation and that they are out of harms way themselves, which makes sense when you think about how out-gunned somebody with a knife would be. But we clearly see in the video that the cops, instead of creating a perimeter, closed in on her told her to approach them.

Jeanetta’s husband, Shane, Is suing for $1 Million over the death of his unborn child. Seeing as how the police have the backing of the department, it is sadly very unlikely that he will be compensated for his tragic loss.

Officers Involved: Garret Johnson (Officer with handgun), Michael Valenzuela (Officer with the AR) and Skylar Zieglar, Sandpoint Police Department.

Filming Cops was started in 2010 as a conglomerative blogging service documenting police abuse. The aim isn’t to demonize the natural concept of security provision as such, but to highlight specific cases of State-monopolized police brutality that are otherwise ignored by traditional media outlets.

21 foot “rule” allows an officer time to react to a rapidly approaching deadly threat. Time to recognize the threat, unholster a handgun and shoot. It only takes a fraction of a second to pull a trigger. Both guns were already drawn and the poor suicidal woman — “bring it on” — already in their sites. Totally unnecessary.

MORON! Anyone with a brain isn’t going to believe this bullshit. You would have to have a large number of cunts working for you to earn that much and it obviously you have only one! Anyway put it on a more suitable site you idiot.

        in a word, fuckoff.

“21 foot rule”? One could measure the minds of these pricks with a one inch rule.

white, black, brown, it DOESN’T MATTER! the only color that matters to these rabid animals is BLUE/KHAKI

I agree and disagree with this. On one hand, it IS true that the problem is faced by anyone cops think is a easy target that is easy to malign and who has little recourse. On the other hand, minorities are often easier to visually identify and/or perceive as being such. On thing is certain though, we ALL need to take this threat seriously.

as I’ve said before. we are all [email protected]@ers on the plantation. injuns on the reservation, gooks in the internment camps. either people are part of the elite, or their private goon squad (cops), or you are a pee on. that’s where we are today

Well dickhead you could ALWAYS go back to the country of your roots. Let’s see how you like them apples.

I disagree with this. Cops don’t just wear blue or khaki. They also wear black and brown.

I coined an expression ‘blue blinders’, feel free to pass it on. this is when cops murder and their superiors ‘can’t see that the did anything wrong’…

      I get so sick of hear that color isn’t a factor. Just because you saw one video where police are brutalizing people other than people of color, you have concluded that they brutalize citizens equally across the board. So pathetic. That’s like saying;
*There’s no such as domestic violence against women because I just saw a video of a husband hit his brother. It’s all equally violent.
*Restaurant sit-ins in the 60s was not just about racism against black people because white participants were attacked and ridiculed too.

      • Gary Williams Jr.

there has been PLENTY of video’s and other cases verified by witnesses. so take your “poor blacks are the only ones” shit and FUCK OFF!!!!

  • Cae

Damn bastards, there are rubber bullets, tasers, maze, n stuff. Besides they’re supposed to be trained. Definitively excesive violence unnecesary, and this is supposed to be the best law enforcement police in the civilized world. Shame.

Interesting. Your quote, “they did not respond as if they were dealing with a drunk, depressed and mentally ill woman” is wrong. This is how are officers are dealing with the mentally ill, irregardless of the vodka or the unborn baby that lost its life. This is afterall, the culling of the mentally ill. They will be justified in killing her… just as they are justified in killing anyone they can get their bullets into.

  • Roberto Markham

It must have been a fucking LONG knife it these nitwits were afraid of it cutting them. All about mind over matter. In their minds she didn’t matter.

  • DailyPUMA

The pregnant woman probably threatened to stab herself and kill the fetus so the officers felt they had to act, so they shot the pregnant woman dead before she could stab her fetus.

  • Joseph Edward Bodden

quote: Why he and other officers opted to try something besides killing her, even though they had the opportunity, is unknown.: you kinda screwed the pooch on this one, that is exactly what they did NOT do.
