Michigan Senate Passes Bill Outlawing Oral and Anal Sex — Violators Will Face 15 Years in Prison

Lansing, MI — During their session last week, the Michigan Senate passed a bill that effectively bans all forms of sodomy, anal, oral, gay and non-gay — making the acts punishable by up to 15 years in prison.

Surprisingly, Michigan is not alone in this archaic and oppressive legislation. Michigan, along with Idaho, Utah, VirginiaNorth CarolinaSouth Carolina, FloridaAlabama, Mississippi, and Louisiana, all have laws on the books making consensual oral and anal sex, illegal, between all individuals. MontanaKansas, Oklahoma, and Texas, have only outlawed these acts if those engaged in them are gay.

The passage of this Bill is in spite of the U.S. Supreme Court’s 2003 ruling in Lawrence v. Texas declaring sodomy bans unconstitutional.

In an attempt to skirt the legal boundaries of the SCOTUS ruling, Michigan encompasses these so-called ‘sex crimes’ into the legislation on bestiality — as if the two are related in any way whatsoever.

“A person who commits the abominable and detestable crime against nature either with mankind or with any animal is guilty of a felony,” reads SB 219.

And, if the state catches you committing this ‘felony,’ you will face not more than 15 years in prison.

The draconian law outlawing human sodomy could have been easily altered by merely removing the phrase “either with mankind” from the bill, along with the other words struck in the citation above. But this was too difficult according to Senator Rick Jones.

In an interview with The New Civil Rights MovementSenator Jones explained that including humans in the bestiality bill is the only way to protect the animals.

The New Civil Rights Movement reports:

“The minute I cross that line and I start talking about the other stuff, I won’t even get another hearing. It’ll be done,” Jones said. “Nobody wants to touch it. I would rather not even bring up the topic, because I know what would happen. You’d get both sides screaming and you end up with a big fight that’s not needed because it’s unconstitutional.”

Jones added that he believes the only way to repeal the sodomy ban would be a bill striking all unconstitutional laws from the state’s books.

“But if you focus on it, people just go ballistic,” he said. “If we could put a bill in that said anything that’s unconstitutional be removed from the legal books of Michigan, that’s probably something I could vote for, but am I going to mess up this dog bill that everybody wants? No.”

In Jones’ eyes, people having consensual oral and anal sex should face being locked in a cage for a decade and a half so that the state can protect animals. The statist logic is baffling, to say the least.

What the passage of this Senate Bill shows is that government is still so interested in monitoring and regulating the activities of consenting adults that they would lay waste to freedom to enforce their version of morality.

This cant be for real, there’s no way in this day and age that consenting adults can’t do what they damn well please with their own bodies. Canada looks down in shame at the US’s stupidity.

Its our government trying to control us.slowly but surely these kind of things will continue to happen. this is no longer the land of the free it’s do what we tell u or we’ll throw u in prison cause that’s America’s solution to everything what a joke. And we as Americans wonder why many other countries don’t like us they have good reason. We have idiots running this country.

    • Travis Rhoden

This isn’t the US. It’s one state being fucking retarded, and really, it’s just some idiot politicians. The US as an entity has already said that this sort of law is unconstitutional, as mentioned in the article, and the moment a single person is tried using this law, it’ll fall apart. Additionally, the majority of Americans are against this sort of bullshit. It’s really mostly religious conservatives that pull this kind of shit.

So one can put a gun to his or her own head an pull the trigger and it would be okey-dokey with you.?

The government legalized sex acts as an acceptable form of payment to politicians from lobbyists and corporations. Legal prostitution for politicians, but not for regular people.

Its not enforceable, except for the part that protects the animals, so I wouldn’t be too worried about it. For those who are worried about it, lets start with that bill to strike all unconstitutional laws from the books, which would force them to rewrite it with just the animals. Florida has a law prohibiting sodomy, and I have yet to see anyone actually get arrested for it.

    • Ussula Lutrova

unenforceable as it might be thats not exactly the point here…the point is they dared to write it at all. the point is its a blatant violation of our privacy, our consenting secxual activities, and and the constitution. the point is this is tyranny rwegardless if they can actually enforce it on everyone…plus there will be the few times they might actuallymanage to nail someone with it and then some poor sod is sitting in jail for 15 years with rapists and murderers instead of being a happy free productive member of society.

      • rebecca

The people of Michigan can fight the law and the federal government will make Michigan repeal that part of the law. Also, its hard to be tyrannical when you can’t really enforce something. This kind of law has been on the books for years in many states, and yet no one has been arrested for it that I know of in recent years. I’m not arguing that it needs to exist, i’m just arguing that the part in question here is not enforceable, and I think we can all agree that the part about having sex with animals should be on the books.

While Michigan is reported to have the largest muslim enclave in the US, not all of us are muslims. In fact I am pretty sure most of us are against humans having sex with camels, sheep and goats.

      • Hata H. Zappa

I am against that, too. But I am NOT against people having anal sex. If my saying so in so many words offends you, too bad.

Abominable and detestable? I’m shocked that any legislator feels the need to regulate sex between consenting adults. Time for some people to retire from public service.

Funnily enough, the Governor quickly signed the bill into law just after receiving his well deserved blowjob from the Michigan First Lady.

  • Ussula Lutrova

what???? why havnt we heard anything about this in michigan???? and besides fuck those asshats in the senate!! they have zero right to enforce their lifestyle and sexual choices on other sane consenting adults!!! theyd have to arrest the vast majority of the state if they even expect to enforce this!! this is an outrage!! these asshats need to be recalled and banned from public office for life!!! this is unconstitutional in every possible way!!! the gov is in our bedrooms now!!! they stepped over the line!!

  • CheersToThat

Like it can be enforced. People who engage in those acts are not about to publicy announce it. So what is the sate going to do? under suspicion that someone does? And they are in right under consitutional law to order someone to undergo tests to try to prove it. Fuck you Michigan and your agenda.

    • Lauren Fleishman Nielsen

It’s probably illegal to fuck a state as well.

  • DOC

Going back to Salem witch days.

  • Stacie Maestas-Muir

This isn’t true. This law is for animal abuse, also called Logan’s Law. Nothing in the bill applies to any form of sex. People have perpetuated the myth and continue to spread the lie around. I live in Michigan and have seen the bill. It was created by a pet owner whose dog was attacked in it’s own back yard with acid.

  • tommycustom1

    I don’t believe this…

  • That guy over there!

In Michigan they made shoving/pushing someone Assault and Battery punishable by 500 dollars and 93 days in jail. And yes the county prosecutor will press charges and will throw the book at you followed by the library brick by brick.
Funny how they change the definition of crime and not tell anyone or put it to a vote of the citizens to see if we agree with these rule changes.

Police must be able to sneaak up to bedroom windows and peek inside. Next thing, it will be against the law to have curtians, or shades, or anything that obstructs an officer’s view of anything going on in any bedroom.

Multi-story building shall have the doors remain unlocked in order to allow access by the police to sneak in and catch people using anything other than the missionary sex position..

Having sex in any room other than a bedroom is also against the law.. That would be the same as hiding evidence……
