A Fairview police officer has been charged with five felony counts of possession of child pornography and one felony count for violating the Computer Crimes Act for storing child pornography on a computer.

I hate, hate seeing things like this.

William Nathaniel Meyer was placed on administrative leave (also known as paid vacation) Friday after Charles Gadd, Fairview’s acting police chief, received allegations from a juvenile male that Meyer was communicating with the boy’s girlfriend in a sexually explicit manner via text message, according to an affidavit.

This officer is not very smart for reportedly texting and giving clear evidence.

Major County Attorney General Chris Boring filed the charges against Meyer on Wednesday.

Why has this creep not been fired yet?

According to the affidavit, a search warrant was served Monday for Meyer’s residence.

At the time of the warrant, Meyer and his wife declined to be interviewed.

While searching the home, Dewey County Sheriff L. Clay Sander found more than 50 child sexual abuse images on a custom-built computer tower that contained seven individual hard drives, according to the affidavit.

The affidavit detailed five images and videos found on the computer, including a video of two prepubescent children touching each other while nude and engaging in intercourse.

Are you kidding me? This is scum.

After conducting the search, the Meyers were advised of their rights and were placed under arrest.

At that time, according to the affidavit, Nate Meyer voluntarily stated he took responsibility and it was “all my fault.”

Fire this police officer already!

Bond was set at $50,000 and he bonded out in no time.

If you’re in the area watch out for this guy and make sure you keep your kids away.

An arraignment hearing is set for 2:30 p.m. Friday in Major County.

Why does he still have a job?

“placed on administrative leave (also known as paid vacation)”

    “Paid leave” means paid vacation.
“Paid administrative leave” means you give up your gun and car and work in admin–filing, answering phones, evidence room, etc.
It means you go to work like everyone else with a job.

This doesn’t mean he’s a good guy, it just means you need to stop saying this in every single article you write.
There should not be different rules for our side (i.e., false statements to “win” our arguments) versus their side.
Also from a journalism standpoint, it’s unethical to say untrue things, let alone to try to elicit an emotional response such as outrage.

    This is outrageous enough.
