[WATCH] Off Duty West Mifflin Police Officer Assaults Woman Outside Concert

Filmingcops has learned of a violent confrontation outside of a country music concert at the Key Bank Pavilion.

A West Mifflin police officer, who was off-duty at the time, is accused of grabbing a woman by the throat and throwing her to the ground.

That officer has been suspended.

The borough manager says the officer was suspended Monday and can’t release much information, but a criminal complaint is shedding light about the actions of one officer.

West Mifflin town leaders confirm a borough officer has been suspended pending the outcome of an investigation.

“The suspension was effective immediately upon awareness that certain things have transpired,” said borough solicitor Phil DiLucente, who said he can’t identify the officer suspended because of personnel matters.

According to a police criminal complaint filed five days ago, David McCue, who the town manager confirms is a police officer on the force, was charged with simple assault.

According to a criminal complaint, outside the Key Bank Pavilion on August 6, McCue picked up a woman “around her neck and threw her to the ground causing bodily injuries.

He’s also accused of punching two women “with a closed fist.”

“I can’t confirm anything about a criminal complaint, but we did suspend an officer for a situation,” DiLucente said.

Filming Cops was started in 2010 as a conglomerative blogging service documenting police abuse. The aim isn’t to demonize the natural concept of security provision as such, but to highlight specific cases of State-monopolized police brutality that are otherwise ignored by traditional media outlets.
