Cop is Set Free, After Two Charges of Child Molestation in Connection With Family Violence
MYRTLE BEACH — Officer Michael Luke Ledford of Columbus, GA, was jailed last week on a charge involving sexual assault.
According to reports, it is his second time being arrested.
He was booked into the Myrtle Beach jail for second-degree criminal sexual conduct.
Investigators obtained information from the victim of the sexual assault, and a report showed that the crime involved child molestation.
The report states that Officer Ledford was charged with two counts of child molestation.
In addition, the charges for the molestation of the children were in connection to family violence.
Officer Ledford has been released from jail after spending the night.
He posted $10,000 bail to get out. Whether he has been terminated or is still patrolling the streets is not known.

Many suspect that he may receive paid time off if he raped children, as is typical for officers involved in cases of abuse. As one commenter remarked: “$10k for child molestation? Seems to me that child molestation is worse than bank robbery. How much bail for bank robbery? I’ll bet $10k wouldn’t even cover the 10% for bail. I guess we know where priorities are in our legal system.”
We will update this story as more information is made available pertaining to Officer Ledford’s status and charges.
