Recently the Reverend Franklin Graham posted this on his public Facebook page:
“Listen up–Blacks, Whites, Latinos, and everybody else. Most police shootings can be avoided. It comes down to respect for authority and obedience. If a police officer tells you to stop, you stop. If a police officer tells you to put your hands in the air, you put your hands in the air. If a police officer tells you to lay down face first with your hands behind your back, you lay down face first with your hands behind your back. It’s as simple as that. Even if you think the police officer is wrong—YOU OBEY. Parents, teach your children to respect and obey those in authority. Mr. President, this is a message our nation needs to hear, and they need to hear it from you. Some of the unnecessary shootings we have seen recently might have been avoided. The Bible says to submit to your leaders and those in authority ‘because they keep watch over you as those who must give an account.’”
With all due respect, Mr. Graham, and you have earned my respect, that is pretty easy for you to say from the safety of your celebrity ivory tower status.
You are known across the entire civilized world.
You have never experienced what us common Americans experience from the cops every day.
Until the police state under this dictatorship gets much, much worse, you never will.

You may get pulled over for the occasional traffic stop, but you will never get brutally beaten to death like Kelly Thomas.
You will never have someone stride into your living room, say “I don’t have time for this”, and shoot you in the chest and kill you while you are restrained between two other cops like Keith Vidal.
You will never be put in handcuffs and tazed until you are braindead like Danielle Maudsley.
You will never be trapped in a bathroom and have a gun emptied into you like Donald Kaldrick.
You will never be subjected to actual cavity searches on a public highway like Angel Dobbs, Brandy Hamilton, and Alexandria Randle.
You will never have your dog’s head blown off with a shotgun and have to listen to a cop say “Did you see the way its collar flew up into the air when I blew its head off? That was awesome!” like Sarah Brown did.
