GOOGLE: Over 25,000 Law Enforcement Requests for User Data in 6 Months

Google has announced that government requests for user data have increased more than 100% in the last few years.

In particular there have been over 25,000 law enforcement requests for user data from January to June, 2013.  The bulk of the requests came from US law enforcement.

“And these numbers only include the requests we’re allowed to publish,” says Google. One wonders what the real number is.
