PANAMA CITY BEACH, Fla. – A Panama City Beach police officer is being charged with aggravated assault with a firearm and simple battery.
According to the arrest report, Scott Womack, 48, got into an argument with the victim in the Rock-It-Lanes parking lot in Panama City Beach while off duty. The report says the argument turned into a physical fight and Womack choked the victim and pulled out what appeared to be a gun.
The victim told investigators Womack put the gun in his face and said “I will cap you, ************, I will ******* cap you,” then slapped the victim in the face and holstered his gun.
According to the arrest report, investigators watched a video showing Womack in the parking lot grabbing the victim by the throat and putting something that looked like a gun in the victim’s face. The video also reportedly shows Womack walking away and holstering a gun. The arrest report says the video shows Womack walked back over to the victim and slapped the victim in the face while keeping his other hand on his gun.
The report says the incident happened on March 2nd and Womack was arrested Tuesday.
