2014/02/17

OKLAHOMA — A daughter never expected what would happen to her father as he took her and her mother out for Valentine’s Day.

Luis leaves behind his daughter Lunahi and his wife Nair.

Luis Rodriguez was at a movie theater with his wife and daughter.

His wife, Nair, and his daughter, Lunahi, got in an argument during the movie.

Nair ended up walking out of the theater to cool off.

When Luis ran outside to stop her, cops saw him and asked for his ID.

Police claim that when they asked for Luis’s ID, he “attempted to fight them,” which escalated into a full-blown physical confrontation.

But the daughter and wife say that police are lying.

They say that Luis was simply trying to get around the officers to keep Nair from driving away in anger.

Police are trained to deceive the public for a living.

From a rational point of view, the claims of police cannot be trusted.

Eventually five police officers began beating Luis, pounding his face over and over again, according to the daughter.

“They jumped on him like he was some kind of killer or drug dealer and beat him up,” she said.

“He never fought the officers, they beat him on the head and that’s how he lost his breath.”

“When they flipped him over you could see all the blood on his face, it was, he was disfigured, you couldn’t recognize him.”

They beat him so badly that his own daughter couldn't recognize his face afterwards, according to reports.

She says that she captured the incident on her cell phone camera, but the police took it away.

It is not yet known whether they destroyed the footage.

Before paramedics had a chance to treat Luis, he had already died from the beating, according to reports.

“I saw him. His body was motionless when they carried it on stretcher. I knew then that he was dead,” said the wife.

A spokesman for the Moore Police Department confirmed that the daughter’s cell phone was taken away from her “as evidence.”

Three officers involved in the incident have been placed on administrative leave, still receiving money from taxpayers while the department investigates itself.

Luis leaves behind his daughter Lunahi and his wife Nair, who are deeply heartbroken and planning to fight back with legal action.

UPDATE (02/25/14): Footage of Beating Death is Released

Partial footage of the death has been released by the family’s attorney.

Luis can be seen on the ground in handcuffs as several officers sit on him and knee him.

One cop is seen ramming Luis’s head into the pavement continuously as the wife cries “Luis! Luis!”

Luis can be heard in the video saying “I can’t breathe!”

Moments later the officers roll Luis over, and his head slumps over appearing to be lifeless.

UPDATE (1/25/15): Widow and Her Daughter Sue Police

A report released by News Oklahoma states that Luis’s left-behind family has filed a lawsuit:

A lawsuit was filed Tuesday in Oklahoma County District Court on behalf of Rodriguez’s estate, including his widow, Nair Rodriguez, and his daughter, Luinahi.

The claims include deprivation of rights, excessive force, assault and battery, negligence, infliction of emotional distress and failure to train, supervise and control. They have asked a judge to award punitive damages.

Will the cops actually be punished for killing Luis, or will they get away with it as usual?
