[WATCH] On-Duty Westminster Police Officer Arrested For Sexual Assault and False Imprisonment

BROOMFIELD, Colo. – A Westminster police officer is in custody over allegations of a sexual assault that took place early Wednesday morning, the Broomfield Police Department said.

The incident involving on-duty officer Curtis Arganbright and a woman reportedly occurred between 1 a.m. and 2 a.m. near West 144th Avenue and Zuni Street.

The woman, came forward with the allegations to Westminster police, who contacted Broomfield police.

Arganbright is facing pending charges of sex assault, sexual assault in a position of authority and false imprisonment, Broomfield police said.

Formal charges will be filed later this week with the Adams and Broomfield Counties District Attorney’s Office.

Arganbright, who has been with the department as a patrol officer since 2013, was booked at the Broomfield Detention Center with a $20,000 bond. He has been suspended without pay.

“The impact on the victim in this case is something I can’t begin to imagine,” Westminster police chief Tim Carlson said. “The conduct alleged here can never be tolerated and it can never be repeated.”

No details about the incident were released.
