An 11-year-old boy is recovering now after he was attacked by a Virginia Beach Police dog earlier this week.
The attack happened when the boy and his mother were staying at an America’s Best Inn on Monday afternoon.
The boy’s grandfather, Spencer Luedke, said that this is when the Virginia Beach Police were conducting a search with dogs at the hotel following a bank robbery.
Police say that they brought in the K9 unite to search for the Wells Fargo robber(s). They thought they might have been at the America’s Best Inn location, but as the K9 team moved in, a young boy came down the hallway of the hotel. The dog freaked out and attacked the youth, ripping into his back.
The boy was taken to the hospital where he received stitches, but he is still very shaken up and scared according to his family.
