Enraged Off-Duty NYPD Cop Pistol-Whips and Beats Driver in Brooklyn

An off-duty NYPD cop punched and pistol-whipped a motorist in a fit of road rage after a Brooklyn fender bender, authorities charged Wednesday.

Officer Michael Baror backed his black Jeep Grand Cherokee into the 28-year-old victim’s vehicle, which was heading east on Avenue N near Bedford Ave. in Midwood, just before 8 p.m. Tuesday, sources said.

Sources said Baror, 24, jumped out of the SUV waving and pointing a gun and shouted, “Don’t you know who the f–k I am? I’m NYPD!”

He then allegedly punched and pistol-whipped the other motorist, leaving him with several cuts on his lip and face, officials said.

Baror fled but was followed by the victim’s 27-year-old girlfriend in her car until she rear-ended him at Rogers Ave. and Sullivan Place in Crown Heights, police said.

Baror was hit with charges including assault, illegal weapon possession for the unauthorized use of his gun, reckless endangerment, menacing and leaving the scene of an accident.

His arraignment was pending in Brooklyn Criminal Court Wednesday.

Filming Cops was started in 2010 as a conglomerative blogging service documenting police abuse. The aim isn’t to demonize the natural concept of security provision as such, but to highlight specific cases of State-monopolized police brutality that are otherwise ignored by traditional media outlets.
