Louisiana Police Officer Arrested on Multiple Child Pornography Charges

CROWLEY, La. – A Crowley man was arrested yesterday afternoon as the result of an investigation into child pornography.

In November 2017, Louisiana State Police Detectives initiated an investigation into the possession of child pornography in Acadia Parish. The investigation led Troopers to obtain a search warrant for a computer belonging to Damon Broussard, 42.

Today, State Police Troop I spokesman Brooks David confirmed that Broussard is a former officer with the Crowley Police Department.

Troopers executed a search warrant on Broussard’s computer and discovered the child pornography. An arrest warrant was issued for Broussard’s arrest, charging him with 15 counts of pornography involving juveniles.

On March 19, 2018, troopers arrested Broussard and booked him into the Acadia Parish Correctional Center.

He is being held on a $300,000 bond.

Filming Cops was started in 2010 as a conglomerative blogging service documenting police abuse. The aim isn’t to demonize the natural concept of security provision as such, but to highlight specific cases of State-monopolized police brutality that are otherwise ignored by traditional media outlets.
