A disgraced Correction Department investigator will get a whole different look at lockup, now that he’s been found guilty on kiddie porn charges.
Long Island federal jurors convicted Fernando Clarke on Monday for transporting, receiving and possessing child pornography.
When he’s sentenced next month, Clarke, 64, faces a minimum of five years in prison.
Prosecutors said Clarke stored videos depicting sexual abuse of preteen kids — and offered a ridiculous excuse when confronted on his pervy tendencies.
When authorities searched Clarke’s East Meadow home in 2015, court papers said he claimed he was downloading the revolting stuff in connection to his job, so he could “learn about juvenile victims.”
Some of the children were toddlers, court papers noted.
During the search, Clarke also admitted he wasn’t allowed to download porn for his job.
Brooklyn U.S. Attorney Richard Donoghue said Clarke badly broke his vow, as a sworn member of law enforcement, to report abuse.
Clarke “downloaded images of the rape and abuse of children for his personal use. We will be vigilant in holding accountable law enforcement officers who violate their oaths.”
