[WATCH] Naked Man Armed With Bug Spray Slaps Houston Officer

HOUSTON — Video captured the bizarre moment a naked, pesticide-wielding man slapped a police officer at a Metro stop in Houston.

The wild encounter started when 49-year-old Keith L. Dean attempted to spray two officers with a can of pesticide he stole from maintenance workers on June 6, police said.

One of the cops grabbed the bug spray, and Dean lunged forward to slap him in the face. In return, the officers stunned the 49-year-old with a Taser, sending him to the ground.

Police said before they got there a concerned citizen called 911 to report a naked man wandering around, the Houston Chronicle reports. The caller attempted to give the man a towel to cover up, but said he ended up punching the caller in the face instead.

Dean was arrested and charged with two counts of assault on a public servant.

The Houston Police Department released the following statement, commending the officers for diffusing the situation:

“We commend these two officers for their actions in bringing a volatile situation to a safe conclusion. The male clearly struck our officer, who in turn used sound judgement in holding his composure and gaining control of the scene …. thanks to assistance from his partner.”

Filming Cops was started in 2010 as a conglomerative blogging service documenting police abuse. The aim isn’t to demonize the natural concept of security provision as such, but to highlight specific cases of State-monopolized police brutality that are otherwise ignored by traditional media outlets.
