WATCH: American Soldier Survived Two Combat Tours Only to be Killed by Police

2015/05/22

TEXAS — A deeply disturbing video has surfaced online displaying the agonizing death of an American soldier in police custody.

Sgt. James Brown served two combat tours in Iraq.

Even though we don’t support war, Sgt James Brown did sincerely believe that he was fighting for his country.

He may have been mistaken, but this man’s heart was in the right place.

Upon returning he was joyed to be father, as his newborn baby had just arrived.

All of that ended the day he arrived in jail for “court fines.”

Sgt James was locked in an isolated cell and left there, despite him trying to alert officers that he had a history of PTSD.

At some point in the cell, Sgt. James began bleeding, which prompted the officers to respond with violence on him.

In the video, officers can be seen storming into his cell and literally dog-piling his body.

Sgt James pleaded for his life, telling them he couldn’t breathe over 20 times.

In the final moments of the video, several officers are seen surrounding Sgt James after restraining him in a chair.

His breathing was constricted when they tied a rag-like object around his mouth.

He can be seen slowly becoming lifeless, as they carry away his limp body to an infirmary.

They then stripped his clothes off and left him lying naked in a cell.

An ambulance was never called, according to attorneys.

He was pronounced dead shortly afterwards.

B.J. Crow: “When a 26-year-old active military person checks into jail for a court-imposed sentence on a Friday, and he leaves Sunday in a casket, something went horribly wrong there. … He was bleeding out the ears, the nose, the mouth. His kidneys shut down. His blood pressure dropped to a very dangerous level. And his liver shut down,” said the attorney.

James Brown’s family has filed a lawsuit against El Paso County.
