The former security officer that pleaded guilty to raping a Holley High School student was sentenced on Monday.
According to the Orleans Hub, Adam Mesiti was sentenced to ten years of probation. He will also have to register as a sex offender. Earlier this year, he pleaded guilty to having sex with a 16-year-old girl back in 2014.
Speaking with News10NBC, the victim said she met Mesiti when she was 15 while he was a security guard at the school. She says, at one point, she was not living with her family and Mesiti took her in. Shortly after, their relationship became sexual with contact occurring at the school.
If he had been convicted in trial of the crimes, Mesiti would have faced four years in prison. Even under plea deal, he still could have been sentenced to six months in jail.
Mesiti is retired from the Brockport Police Department where he worked as an officer for 20 years.
