Lexington Police Sergeant Suspended Without Pay After Being Indicted For Rape

LEXINGTON, Ky. – Lexington police say a grand jury has indicted Sgt. Christopher Morrow for rape.

Investigators say the alleged crime happened back in March.

A complaint was filed against Sgt. Morrow in May of this year. That complaint was forwarded to Kentucky State Police for further investigation, police said.

State Police confirmed their Drug Enforcement Special Investigations Branch is handling the investigation. Lexington Police’s Public Integrity Unit also looked into the complaint.

Per department policy, police say Sgt. Morrow was suspended with pay pending the outcome of KSP’s investigation.

A grand jury returned an indictment of rape against Sgt. Morrow. Police say he was served an arrest warrant and is now suspended without pay.

He bonded out of the Fayette County Detention Center on Tuesday.

Morrow is scheduled to be arraigned in Fayette County Circuit Court Friday afternoon.

He is being held in the Fayette County jail and his bond is set at $10,000, according to the jail website.

Filming Cops was started in 2010 as a conglomerative blogging service documenting police abuse. The aim isn’t to demonize the natural concept of security provision as such, but to highlight specific cases of State-monopolized police brutality that are otherwise ignored by traditional media outlets.
