Summit County Sheriff’s Deputy Arrested For Stealing $40K From Senior Citizen

A Summit County sheriff’s deputy was arrested on Monday after she was accused of stealing $40,000 from a senior citizen over the course of three years.

The Summit County Sheriff’s Office said it was contacted in March by the Summit County Adult Protective Services after it received a complaint regarding a theft offense against a senior citizen.

According to the complaint, the theft occurred between January 2015 and March 2018.

After an investigation, sheriff’s detectives determined the theft was more than $40,000.

Teresa Hill, 42, was arrested for theft from the elderly. She has been a Summit County sheriff’s deputy for 15 years. She has been placed on paid administrative leave, according to authorities.

She appeared in court on Monday and posted bond, which was set at $10,000.
