Tennessee Police Officer, Substitute Teacher Accused of Rape Faces New Charges
SPRING HILL, TN – A former Spring Hill police officer accused of rape and sexual battery while on the job now faces additional charges.
Christopher Odom, 26, was arrested last month and charged with one count of rape, one count of sexual battery and two counts of official misconduct.
According to the TBI, Odom initiated sexual conduct with women during separate traffic stops in June and July.
Further investigation revealed that in September 2015, Odom allegedly stopped a woman while on duty, followed her to her Spring Hill home and made her engage with sexual contact with him.
Odom is now additionally charged with two counts of rape and two counts of official misconduct. He turned himself in on Monday afternoon.
Odom is being held on a $150,000 bond. He was fired from the Spring Hill Police Department just before his first arrest.
Channel 4 also found Odom was a substitute teacher at Lewis County Schools.
“He is no longer a substitute for Lewis County Schools and has not subbed
since last school year. All subs have a background check and are drug tested. I have no further comment on this matter,” Director of Schools Benny Pace said.
