BEE COUNTY – A correctional officer from Beeville was arrested and is now being held on charges of alleged aggravated sexual assault of a child.
In a press release, Bee County Sheriff’s Office reported that an investigation led to the arrest of Robert Henley, 50 of Beeville for alleged aggravated sexual assault of a child. Henley was reportedly arrested without incident as he prepared to start a shift at TDCJ Garza East Unit, where he worked as a correctional officer.
The investigation began with complaints filed with Bee County Sheriff’s Office alleging that Henley had sexually assaulted a five-year-old child. As part of that investigation, a search warrant was issued for his residence where investigators recovered a number of items for analysis.
Hensley is currently being held at Bee County Jail on a $100,000 bond. Bee County Sheriff Alden Southmayd expressed concern that Henley could have additional victims and is urging the public to come forward with any information.
