A Texas cop has been charged with kidnapping and domestic abuse in the presence of a child after he tortured a woman in various ways as his 10-year-old son watched, the Fort Worth Star-Tribune reports.
James Otterbine met a Florida woman online and bought her a ticket to Oklahoma where he allegedly began to torture her in episodes he described as “rough sex” that was “consensual.”
After an argument, the woman says she was duct-taped and handcuffed to a chair. He also allegedly locked her in his basement with the lights turned off, and threatened to kill her and himself.
Otterbine told police that these were “spats.”
Otterbine was arrested after the woman called 911 from inside Otterbine’s car, pleading to be let out. The call was disconnected but as police tried to fgure out who made it the woman allegedly escaped Otterbine’s car and ran into a bank.
He is no longer with the Geary Police Department, the department says.
